About me
Born in Ontario, Canada, to a Finnish mother and American father, I inherited a rich tapestry of culinary traditions from both sides of my family. From a young age, I found solace and joy in the kitchen, cooking alongside my mother and maternal grandmother, mastering the art of both Finnish delicacies and classic American dishes. This early immersion ignited a lifelong passion for food and its profound connection to health, community and well-being.
Fuelled by this passion, I embarked on a journey through culinary school and later a degree in Nutrition and Food Science. I earned the Registered Dietitian (RD) title, dedicating myself to empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to make informed and nourishing food choices. Through my work, I've supported clients in embracing healthier lifestyles and instilled in them a deeper appreciation for the origins and preparation of their meals.
My career path took a pivotal turn when I moved to California and assumed a leadership role, guiding teams of dietitians and nutritionists in women’s health and lactation. This experience honed my mentorship, coaching, and goal attainment skills, shaping me into a dynamic leader with a skill for nurturing talent and fostering collaboration.
Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, I pursued a master’s degree in gastronomy, immersing myself in the art, design, science, and culture of food at the University of Gastronomic Sciences in Italy. I unearthed the transformative potential of creativity and design thinking in crafting regenerative solutions for our food systems and enriching my holistic approach to food and nutrition.
My mission is to design food and curate experiences that transcend mere sustenance, fostering connection, curiosity, joy, and healing. At the core of my practice lies a belief in mindful nourishment, where food becomes a conduit for self-discovery and holistic well-being. Embracing a whole-person approach, I advocate for a shift away from restrictive diets towards a more intuitive and pleasurable relationship with food.
In our sessions, we delve deep into understanding your body's unique needs, cultivating a positive mindset towards nourishment. Beyond nutrition counselling, I integrate healing movement practices such as yoga, meditation, and ecstatic dance, nurturing the connection between body, mind, and spirit. By finding joy in movement and mindfulness, my clients embark on a transformative journey towards better food choices and enhanced vitality.
